I started playing basketball the summer of my 8th grade year going into 9th. And for me I was just fascinated by it and wanted to keep getting better. It started out as a hobby and became a obsession, to get better everyday and be the best me I could be became a goal for me. It’s a escapism for me and its the thing I’m most passionate about in life.
The most sentimental part about basketball for me could be my number 20, which to me represents 2.0 meaning the only person I’m trying to be better than, is the person I was yesterday in order to achieve my goals. The biggest thing for me is just the time I’ve invested and things I’ve given up so I can play college or achieve whatever upper goal I can. I love the sport and want it in my life for as long as possible
My favorite memory of all my years of basketball would be this past summer. My AAU team went down to Indiana in a giant tournament in which almost every team was considered miles better than us. But we made it to the championship game beating all the odds and projections, we still may have lost but we showed every coach there that a bunch of Mid Michigan kids could tango with a bunch of dI commits and put up a heck of a fight.
